The American High School Skopje is strongly focused on students’ personal needs and requirements. Bearing in mind the differences in academic levels, and at the same time catering to the ever-growing interest for knowledge in young people, the School has been also focusing on providing advanced educational content to above-average students.

The School organizes advanced classes for excellent students who seek to improve and enhance their already vast knowledge. The concept of these classes is to provide students with more detailed and in-depth knowledge, skills, and information that is still related to the general curricula and the learning concepts for high school education.

Advanced classes are offered to students that have distinguished themselves during school and have demonstrated special interest and talent in specific areas. If they are interested and if their parents agree, the students begin with a slightly modified curriculum, in which classes are aimed at preparing the students for higher education and certain topics from the curricula are taught at an advanced level.

Following the advanced classes, the talented students will be directed to take advanced placement tests for colleges that recognize credits from high school as college credit if the material is taught at an advanced level and gain a competitive advantage in a university context.
