Terrifyingly Creative: 9A and 9B Turn Classic Horror Into Child-Friendly Chills

In recent English lessons with teacher Ana Trajkovska ✏️, students dove into the dark and suspenseful world of Edgar Allan Poe 🕯️, focusing on his classic short story The Tell-Tale Heart 💔👁️. Over three spine-tingling sessions, they explored themes of guilt, madness, and narrative voice, uncovering how Poe builds tension and suspense through his unique storytelling style 🧠🔍.

But then came the twist… 💡

Inspired by Poe’s chilling tale, students were challenged to create original horror stories for children – just spooky enough to thrill, but friendly enough for little readers 🎨👶🕷️. Working in groups, they wrote imaginative tales and designed picture books to bring them to life – some handmade with care ✂️🖍️, others created with digital tools 💻🎨.

The result? A wonderful collection of illustrated stories that mix classic horror elements with a playful twist 👾📖. Each book is a testament to their creativity, teamwork, and storytelling talent 🌟🧑‍🎨.

We’re proud to showcase their work! 🎉

👉 The books are available for viewing in Ms. Trajkovska’s office throughout May, and will also be exhibited at the school’s end-of-year event 🎓🎈.

Whether you’re in the mood for a gentle scare or just want to admire some impressive creativity, we invite you to come take a look! 💀🧸✨
