Amelija is a student that has shown consistent dedication across both academic and creative fields. Since joining AHSS, she has received awards in competitions in chemistry, biology, and physics, including her latest first place in the national biology competition. She’s also earned prizes in international online contests in STEM and chemistry, as well as placing second in the NASA Space Apps Challenge, together with her group.
Outside of science, Amelija has a strong interest in many of the arts. This is encompassed by her being an avid reader of philosophy, classical literature and psychology, which is reflected in her prose and poetry writings. Another aspect is her involvement in music, performing in two cover bands – the Third Brigade and Enterprise, and contributing original material in an independent band. In addition, she enjoys drawing, with a focus on detailed graphite portraits.
Her wide range of interests reflects a deep curiosity and a drive to keep learning and creating, wherever her focus may land next.
