Embracing Global Opportunities with Erasmus+

ERASMUS+

The school has been registered and is available for Erasmus+ active communication on K1 projects, including student exchange, teachers exchange and job shadowing.

In 2024, AHSS and the NGO Eduart was a part of the Erasmus+ GREEN WARDROBE project “From Waste to Wear: Building Skills for a Greener Wardrobe!” in collaboration with Active Cypriot Programs and European Learning into Acceptance, ACPELIA. This was a Youth Exchange project in Pissouri, Cyprus, involving 49 participants and 14 leaders and 2 stakeholders from several European countries.

From March 18 to 27, 2024, seven AHSS students and two project leaders participated, gaining valuable knowledge on topics such as fast fashion’s impact on the environment and communities. The students learned extensively and have been sharing this knowledge at home, hosting follow-up events and activities to discuss fast fashion, greenwashing, pollution, ethics, and workers’ rights, transforming insights into action for a greener planet.

AHSS Participates in First Erasmus+ S.A.M.E.R. Project Meeting

On February 4, representatives of American High School Skopje participated in the first project meeting of the Erasmus+ initiative S.A.M.E.R. – School’s Ability to Adapt in the Modern Educational Context: Navigating Resilience.

The project focuses on strengthening schools’ ability to recognize areas most sensitive to change and to implement resilience strategies. Many schools currently lack practical tools to evaluate vulnerabilities and opportunities, making proactive responses to modern educational challenges more difficult.

Through international cooperation, S.A.M.E.R. seeks to address these needs and support more adaptable school systems. Working along our partners Institute for Research in Environment, Civil Engineering and Energy – IECE, our school is proud to be a part of such an important project, helping to bring long-lasting and truly valuable effects to the community.

The meeting gathered partner institutions from Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, North Macedonia, and Albania, marking the beginning of joint work aimed at strengthening resilience in education.
