Erasmus+ Guests from Czechia

Welcome to Our Erasmus+ Guests from Czechia! 🇨🇿✨

We are thrilled to welcome our Erasmus+ exchange students and their coordinator from Žďár nad Sázavou, our partner school from the Czech Republic, to American High School Skopje! 💙

After settling in with their wonderful host families, our guests began their two-week adventure at AHSS – attending classes, exploring our school community, and discovering everything Skopje has to offer. 🏫🌍

Their first day of classes began with English with Maja Trajkovska, where – a bit shy and tired after their long trip – they slowly warmed up to speaking and sharing their first impressions. They also had their first Macedonian Language class with Milosh Andonovski, making connections between the two languages and cultures. 🇲🇰📖 They also visited the Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje, as part of the Visual Arts course with Dita Starova, where they visited the retrospective exhibition of Zivko Popovski, one of the most influential Macedonian architects.

The next day the students had a guided sightseeing tour around Skopje, where they learned more about our city’s history and culture – and of course, they’ve already enjoyed a few walks of their own through the lively streets of the capital! 🏛️☀️

Yesterday, they had the opportunity to attend the Grade 12 IB DP classes and see what makes this programme so special and favored. In English with Sandra Grujevska, students introduced themselves and got to know each other through creative and reflective activities that encouraged self-expression and connection. This was followed by a series of presentations from our IB DP students, who shared insights on presentation skills, research skills and learning strategies. The Czech students then took the stage to present their school system and approach to learning, giving everyone a chance to exchange ideas and experiences. 💬📚

In Business and Management with Nadezda Pop Kostova, students worked in mixed groups to complete the ATL Activity – Business Cluedo Communication Challenge, for a chance to see how good are their communication skills. It was an engaging and fun way to build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills — with lots of laughter along the way! 🎯🤝

While their coordinator has now returned home after a successful job shadowing experience at AHSS, our exchange students will remain with us during the next two weeks, taking part in school activities, projects, and events that promote cultural exchange, collaboration, and friendship.

We’re so happy to have them with us — let’s make these two weeks unforgettable! 💫🇲🇰🤝🇨🇿
