🌟 AHSS is Proud to be a RYCO Superschool! 🌟
We are thrilled to announce that AHSS has been awarded the prestigious “Superschool” status once again! 🎉 As one of only 15 schools in North Macedonia to receive this honor, we are committed to fostering peacebuilding, reconciliation, and intercultural learning through youth exchange programs across the Western Balkans. 🌍
This recognition opens new doors for our students, providing them with unique opportunities to engage in regional collaboration and develop crucial skills for their future. With the support of RYCO and GIZ, these transformative exchanges will enhance youth mobility, promote cross-cultural understanding, and create lasting partnerships.
At a special event, notable speakers including Mr. Albert Hani, RYCO Secretary General, Ms. Vesna Janevska, Minister for Education and Science, and Mr. Kevin Maass, Head of Culture from the German Embassy, highlighted the critical role youth play in shaping a peaceful, cooperative future.
We are proud to be part of this initiative and excited for our students to take on these impactful experiences! 🌟
The Former state president Stevo Pendarovski at AHSS
We were honored to welcome former state president Stevo Pendarovski to the American High School Skopje during our Introduction to Law course, led by teacher Kimo Chavdar. 🌟
In a captivating session, Mr. Pendarovski shared personal stories from his time in office, offering valuable insights on leadership, public service, and the power of education. He emphasized the critical role young people play in shaping the future and encouraged our students to pursue their passions with dedication and purpose.
Students were deeply engaged as Mr. Pendarovski discussed the challenges and rewards of public service, inspiring them to stay active in their communities and work toward positive change. They left the classroom feeling motivated and ready to make a meaningful impact in the world. 🌍

AHSS Talks event
As part of our focus on students’ futures and our dedication to helping them grow, we are introducing a creative way to help them choose and decide on a career path. We are beginning with a series of inspiring lectures and engaging talks with people from different jobs and professions, in order to bring them closer to the students and give them a greater insight into what a profession really is like, what you need to study to get it, how to prepare and what to expect.
So today, we are proud to be the host of the first AHSS Talks event with the wonderful and inspiring Sandra Kirkov, a former Emirates cabin crew member. She told us her story about being up in the clouds, and guided us through her journey as a flight attendant. Sharing the most exciting moments of her travels, as well as the most challenging ones, she captivated the students’ attention and invited them to experience this attractive lifestyle. The students were swarming with questions, being interested in all aspects of this exciting profession. We would like to thank Sandra for her patience, passion and dedication.
AHSS Talks event
We hosted our second AHSS Talks event, sparking career-oriented thinking among our students and opening their eyes to diverse career possibilities. 👩🎓👨🎓
We were honored to have Dane Uskokov, a talented 🍣 sushi chef, share his journey. He spoke about the passion that led him to pursue this unique career path, and emphasized the critical role of communication, collaboration, and discipline in achieving success in the culinary world. 🎯
Our students were fascinated by his story and left inspired, with a new perspective on career choices.

An incredible visit to Daut Pasha Hammam
Our second-grade students had an incredible visit to Daut Pasha Hammam at the National Gallery 🏛️, where they explored the captivating Tomo Vladimirski Art exhibition 🎨. Inspired by Vladimirski’s stunning Macedonian landscapes, the students unleashed their creativity and produced amazing drawings of their own. We’re thrilled to share a glimpse of their fantastic work! 🎨🖼️
This experience not only sparked their imaginations but also deepened their appreciation of how art helps preserve culture and history. They returned full of inspiration! ✨

RYCO Social Broomstick Project
🌟✨This year, American High School Skopje partnered with Third Millennium High School in Prishtina for the RYCO Social Broomstick project, bringing together 24 students to use poetry and theatre as tools for promoting intercultural dialogue and social change. Through workshops, cultural exchanges, and discussions, students explored the power of art to raise awareness about critical social issues and build meaningful connections.
A highlight of the RYCO project is the platform Theatre of Spells: Poetry for Change, where slam poetry workshops empower young voices to express their thoughts and inspire community dialogue. These workshops and events will continue as a legacy of the project, fostering creativity and collaboration for years to come.
This partnership has created bonds that go beyond borders and programs, establishing a foundation for lasting collaboration. Thanks to RYCO’s support, this initiative has left a meaningful impact, making the world a little brighter, one verse at a time. 🌍✨
